Come celebrate a night of fashion, film, and social media with Shoestring, Fafarazzi, Boston Tweetup & The Garen Daly Show!

What is #OscarUp?

The 1st Annual #OscarUp is a chance for us to get dressed up in our best flashbulb-friendly duds on an otherwise dull and cold March night and to hang out with some of our favorite fashion, film, pop culture, and social media-loving Tweeps at Boston's first modern "speakeasy," Prohibited at Symphony 8.

If that's not enough to sell you on #OscarUp, there will also be:

  • A red carpet photo booth for posing w/ your Tweeps
  • Twitter contests for Best Dressed & Best Guessed
  • Oscars-themed cocktails created just for #OscarUp
  • Celeb-worthy swag bags full of fun stuff from Boston-based brands
  • NECN film critic Garen Daly doing Oscars commentary during breaks
  • Exclusive discounts for getting your celebrity "look for less"

(start at the 10:10 mark for #OscarUp Video Only)

What should I wear to #OscarUp?

Unlike the Oscars themselves, this is NOT your typical "see and be seen" event. The #OscarUp is all about having fun and celebrating pop culture, not looking the part. Have fun and a sense of humor with your "Best Dressed" look. Wear your favorite vintage gown or tux, impersonate your favorite celebrity or celebrity doppelganger, or just throw on a blazer over your T-shirt, jeans, and Chuck Taylors.

If you do decide to dress up, our dear friends at designer consignment store The Closet on Newbury Street are offering 10% off all men's & women's purchases exclusively for #OscarUp attendees. Just show your #OscarUp ticket at the store and you're well on your way to that celebrity look for less!

What are the #OscarUp prizes?

Prizes include some amazing stuff from some amazing Boston-based #OscarUp sponsors, including:

  • Two (2) VIP tickets to opening night at Wine Riot
  • Two (2) tickets to see one of the films at the Somerville Theatre
  • Two (2) "tees that stand for something" & gift certificate from Mer+ge

Plus new prizes and sponsors are being added daily, so be sure to sign up for #OscarUp now before tickets sell out, and follow @Shoestring & @Fafarazzi on Twitter for updates.
